Nineteen in ’20

Twenty-twenty thus far has been nineteen days of unstressed productivity and that looks to continue for the foreseeable future.  I do not recall as being as organized as I have been since the New Year fireworks faded to silence and that certainly has helped with my overall positive attitude.  I am happy and content and I owe a lot of credit to Microsoft To-Do along … Continue reading Nineteen in ’20

An Active Week

I have been fairly active over the past week-and-a-bit so I thought this was a good time to post a short update. The first thing I did on my birthday last Thursday was to walk to the Phuket Philatelic Museum (about five minutes from my home). It was the date of release for Thailand’s last stamp of 2019 — a 5-baht commemorative marking the nation’s … Continue reading An Active Week

Birthday Meanderings & Annual Wrap-Up

Hmm.  Eight months since my last entry on this blog.  I haven’t been lazy in those eight months.  In fact, I have been busier this year than any in recent memory.  At least I have had more happen to me.  And so, on the occasion of my 54th birthday, it is time to bring those who visit here an update.  I usually become quite nostalgic around this time of the year anyway…

Monthly Meanderings: October 2015

20151006_180341October was one of my more active months in recent memory despite the fact that I didn’t work at all during the majority of the month.  I’ve been an hourly employee for my teaching agency the past three-and-a-half years so I don’t earn any income if I don’t work.  Luckily, my savings cover those rare lean months of the between-term school breaks but that tenuous existence is about to change in a big way.  More on that in a bit.  As my “forced” holiday coincided with the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival, I took full advantage of the time off and participated as much as I could.  Both during and following the festival, I finally started exploring the many interesting cafes and restaurants that have been sprouting up all around the Old Town area.

Monthly Meanderings: August 2015

SAM_7003August saw my return to high school and I’m still trying to adjust.  My leisure time went from “perfect” to “will I ever have free-time again”?  September will be even busier but I should be able to take a lengthy holiday starting the second week of October.  At least the weather has largely cooperated; the mornings and evenings have been relatively cool with only the rare thunderstorm.
