I have been “silent” here on Asian Meanderings for quite some time now. I have, however, maintained daily (yes, daily!) and often lengthy articles on my main stamp-collecting blog — A Stamp A Day. As my place of work is closed today (and I have my regular weekly day off tomorrow), I felt that this holiday weekend would be a fine time to try and get caught up on my other blogs.
Wednesdays are currently a day off for me so I like to try and do something special. Yesterday I hopped aboard a pink bus (the correct one this time!) for the brief journey to Central Festival where I watched what will probably be my only cinema movie of the year — the second half of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Part one was my sole movie theater experience of last year. I wouldn’t rate the finale to be the best of the Harry Potter movies — it’s much too dark for that — but I appreciated that the director plunges one right into the story without bothering to explain anything that’s come before. You really do have to be familiar with the series in order to understand what’s happening. The battle scenes were magnificent and my one real complaint was that you didn’t see enough of the dementors.

I spent some time in the internet cafe last night implementing a few changes to the blog. As always, I had some difficulty as what worked upstairs on my laptop gave me problems on the ancient computers downstairs. Although the Suffusion theme worked fine on the “live” blog when I tested it briefly a few nights ago, I made the “mistake” of uploading the most recent version of the theme before trying it out this time around. The entire WordPress dashboard completely disappeared! I ended up having to delete this version via FTP (I use FileZilla), replacing it with a year-old version. That worked…
