The Saddest Tombstone In Penang (Protestant Cemetary, 31 May 2011)

Found in the Protestant Cemetary of George Town, Penang, this is probably the saddest tombtone I’ve ever encountered:

THE FOUR BELOVED CHILDREN OF

MADRAS MEDICAL SERVICE
AND
LOUISA MARY HIS WIFE

WILLIAM DUNCAN
DIED NOVR 21ST 1849 AGED 4 DAYS
PROVIDENCE
DIED AT TRICHINOPOLY
JANY 20TH 1851 AGED 6 DAYS
WILLIAM
DIED JUNE 9TH 1852 AGED 6 DAYS
FLORENCE MARY
DIED JULY 5TH 1855
AGED 1 YEAR 8 MONTHS AND 16 DAYS

[???] SIN COULD BLIGHT OR SORROW FADE
DEATH CAME WITH FRIENDLY CARE
THE OPENING BUDS TO HEAVEN CONVEYED
AND BADE THEM BLOSSOM THE [???]
